Advances on the expanded application of Toric intraocular lens in cataract surgery

Abstract:

Toric intraocular lens (Toric IOL) can effectively correct corneal astigmatism in cataract patients, improve the rate of lens removal after cataract surgery, and stabilize the effect of astigmatism correction. In recent years, Toric IOL is not only used in adult cataract patients with corneal regular astigmatism ≥0.75 D, but also more and more used in patients with high myopia, corneal refractive surgery, corneal marginal degeneration, irregular corneal astigmatism and juvenile cataract. Its extended application provides better postoperative effect for patients, but it also has some limitations and shortcomings. In this paper, the current situation and existing problems of the clinical application of Toric IOL were reviewed.
