Abstract:

High myopia is often accompanied by anatomical features such as axial elongation, posterior staphyloma, hard or even black nucleus of the lens, laxity of the suspensory ligament, vitreous liquefaction, and weak capsule. When combined with cataracts, preoperative measurement of intraocular lens (IOL) refractive power in patients is prone to errors, increased surgical difficulty, and increased risk of perioperative complications, seriously affecting the patient's visual prognosis. Therefore, it is necessary to review the measurement of IOL refractive power, surgical strategies, and perioperative management standards for high myopia complicated with cataracts, in order to provide reference for clinical practice.

Key words: Highly myopic cataract, Surgery, Intraocular lens, Complications
