Abstract:

Thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy is an organ-specific autoimmune disease, which can not only reduce patients′ visual acuity, but also change their appearances, affect their social interaction, psychosocial and other factors, and reduce their life qualities. Eye lesions of the elderly are more complex and have a greater impact on the life qualities of the elderly. However, compared with other age groups, the elderly is easily ignored. This paper will discuss the influencing factors, clinical characteristics, and treatment of thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy in the elderly, in order to remind the clinical attention of the elderly patients, and provide the basis for clinical standard diagnosis and treatment.
