Pay attention to the choice of surgical technique and prevention of complications in intraocular lens implantation in the absence of capsular support

Abstract:

For patients with intraocular lens dislocation, severe lens dislocation and aphakic eye, intraocular lens implantation technique in the absence of capsular support is an efficient way to restore visual function. The surgical techniques includes anterior chamber intraocular lens implantation, iris-fixated intraocular lens implantation, sutured transscleral intraocular lens fixation and sutureless intrascleral haptic fixation. Each technique has been improved since its commencement. Each technique has its advantages and disadvantages and has different indications and contraindications, which has respective advantage and disadvantages and different the indications and contraindications. In this paper, the evolution of intraocular lens implantation technique in the absence of capsular support, the selection of surgical methods for different clinical situations, and the prevention of common complications were reviewed.
