Abstract:

Juvenile idiopathic arthritis associated uveitis (JIA-U) is the most common extra-articular manifestation of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). JIA-U usually is characterized by chronic anterior uveitis, with insidious onset and often companying with vision-threatening complications. The goal of treatment for JIA-U is to reduce intraocular inflammation to zero or minimal activity to maintain immobility, which to be avoided various kinds of complications of JIA-U. It is of great benefit for ophthalmologists to understand the pathogenesis of JIA-U and associated risk factors, which to timely treat and reduce visual impairment with the greatest degree of effort. Therefore, the epidemic characteristics, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment of JIA-U were reviewed in this paper.
