Abstract:

The patients with primary vitreoretinal lymphoma (PVRL) had a short survival and high mortality, thus urge early diagnosis of this disease was helpful to have the survival superiority. However, due to the variety of clinical manifestations of PVRL, the lack of specificity of imaging examination and the low diagnostic rate of pathology as the gold standard, clinicians were inspirited to find more easy-to-use and valuable methods to assist diagnosis. The detection methods such as cytokines, immunohistochemistry, molecular biology and molecular genetics were of benefit to improve the diagnosis rate, but it was important for ophthalmologists to improve the comprehension of the manifestations and imaging characteristics of PVRL and actively explore more reliable and scientific methods based on the available detection methods.
