Abstract:

Iris corneal endothelial (ICE) syndrome is the general name of a group of ophthalmic diseases, including Chandler syndrome (CS), iris nevus syndrome (CRS) and progressive or substantial iris atrophy (PIA / EIA). ICE characterized by abnormal proliferation of corneal endothelial cells and migration to the iris surface. ICE progresses slowly and is incurable. It has been demonstrated that the possible etiology of ICE has been related with viral infection, and the formation and contraction of abnormal endothelial membrane has a widely recognized pathophysiological process. In this paper, the research status of the etiology and pathophysiological mechanism of ICE were reviewed.
