Advances on the intraocular lens related complications

Abstract:

Since its inception, phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation as an effective means to treat cataracthas been widely used in cataract patients all over the world. In recent years, with the continuous updating of equipment and IOL materials, the postoperative visual quality of patients has also been improving. After IOL implantation, its related complications such as IOL opacity, displacement or dislocation, refractive error and uveitis-glaucoma-hyphema (UGH) syndrome may had the correlation with the decrease of patients′ visual quality. The diagnosis, causes and treatment of IOL related complications were reviewed in this article.
