Abstract:

Benign lymphoepithelial lesions of lacrimal gland (LGBLEL) is a type of orbital disease characterized by painless enlargement of lacrimal gland(s) and swelling of the eyelid(s) in both eyes or one eye. Up to now, its etiology and pathogenesis have not been clarified and unified diagnostic standard and treatment therapy for LGBLEL patients as well have not been developed. LGBLEL can appear to be recurrent and unsustainable, which has a tendency to malignant transformation. Therefore, it was particularly important for early accurate diagnosis and reasonable standardized treatment of the disease. This article will focus on studies of the clinical manifestations, imaging characteristics, laboratory test indicators, histopathological characteristics and treatment methods such as glucocorticoid therapy, radiotherapy, surgical resection with glucocorticoid therapy of LGBLEL in recent years at home and abroad. Summarizing the mentioned above is aim to provide the reference for the diagnosis and treatment of LGBLEL.
