In recent years, age-related macular degeneration (AMD) has become the main cause of irreversible visual impairment in the elderly in China. It can cause central vision loss, deformity of vision, or even loss of vision, resulting in different degrees of visual disability, and the quality of life of patients is greatly affected. When the AMD patients had binocular visual function damage, should actively carry out visual aids rehabilitation treatment, through fitting appropriate, necessary visual training and psychological support, to improve the patient's ability to live independently, improve their quality of life. The present article reviewed the impact of AMD on visual function and quality of life, the basic principles of visual rehabilitation, and the application of rehabilitation in AMD patients.
